I want to know how to generate RSA private key using OpenSSL library in my C source file. I know how to generate it using terminal command. Actually my server.c file will generate a private key and send to client.c Please help me with some source code if possible, otherwise any help will be appreciated.

Openssl generate rsa key pair without passphrase. The openssl req command from the answer by @Tom H is correct to create a self-signed certificate in server.cert incl. A password-less RSA private key in server.key: Here is how it works. Omitting -des3 as in the answer by @MadHatter is not enough in this case to create a private key without passphrase.

You need to use RSA.ToXmlString. Code below uses two different RSA instances with a shared string containing public and private keys. To obtain only public key, use a false parameters, true parameter will return public + private key. Using PuTTYTray to generate a key pairIf you are running Windows and for SSH, you can use the built-in key generator from PuTTY to create a new key pair.1. Ssh generated key is not for ssh ignoring. Click the Keygen button at the bottom of the PuTTY Configuration window to get started. Then in the Key Generator window, check that the Type of key to generate at the bottom is set to SSH-2 RSA. Most modern servers and clients support SSH-2.2. The older SSH-1 was the first version on the standard but is now generally considered obsolete.
